FEATURES:
- Made from American Steel
- Durable Black Powder Coat Finish
- Reduces Rider & Passenger Buffeting
- Re-Directs air on to the engine for better Cooling
- E-Z BOLT-ON INSTALL - DOES NOT REQUIRE REMOVAL OF TANK
- E-Z Install, Step-by-Step Instructions included
- Made in The USA
The functions of the Cooling Deflector Wings are:
1. Reduce the air coming over the top of the tank, around the sides of the tank, And between the upper & lower fairings.
2. This results in a reduction of air hitting the rider and passenger chest, which reduces buffeting/helmet & glasses bobble.
3. Redirect that air to flow over the engine for better cooling.
We have consistently seen engine temperatures reduced by 8-15 degrees with the CDW's.
These mount up easily at the front tank/frame mounting point on each side. They are adjustable to get the best redirection of air for you.
When ordering, use the drop-down to let us know whether you have a Harley Trike or a Harley 2-Wheel Touring Model. This way we can send you the correct CDW for your Ride.
Most baffles and deflectors that reduce rider and passenger buffeting also reduce air flow over the engine, making it run hotter. 2007-Up Twin Cams already run too hot during the warm weather months.
With some thought, some curves and bends, & many miles of testing various prototypes, we developed the CDW's that -
- Reduce Buffeting
- Are unobtrusive when installed
- Increase air flow, cooling the engine, resulting in better engine performance & longer engine life
This is an EASY install - 10 to 20 minutes!

"Who knew something so small would make such a big improvement, Thank you!" -Anthony
"Hello I am very happy with your air wings, they look much better than Harleys. Oil temp down about 5 to 8 precent.Thanks." -Steve Harshbarger
"I ordered a set about three weeks ago for my '14 Ultra Limited. First, I want to thank you for the extremely fast shipping. Second, the wings cured my buffeting problem.
I have a $650 Shoei helmet that I couldn't wear because my eyeballs were shaking so badly that I couldn't focus on the road, but not any longer. Great product! Thanks!" -Stephen
"Had the stereo coming through the helmet speakers, and I could definitely hear it better, and could hear the wife on the intercom much better.
Much less noise under the shield. I was actually able to knock the VOX back three notches without it kicking in and out off of my mic...
So we're well pleased, noticeably less helmet bobble, I used to get a lot, and an unexpected improvement in using the front intercom." -Nate
There are two different style CDW's-
1. Fits HD Trikes with a tank lift and looks like this-
2. Fits Trikes without a tank lift and all 2 wheel Touring models (with or without a tank lift) and looks like this-
The reason for the different design is that on all two wheelers, and Trikes without a tank lift, there is less clearance room, so the design is a bit different (and smaller) to get everything to fit.
They both have a "wing" to them that extends out past where the air is that would cause buffeting, this wing is to catch extra air and direct it down onto the engine.
The purpose for designing these was two-fold:
1. Redirect air onto the engine to cool it down. This happens 100% of the time and is good for an 8-15* reduction in engine temps (regardless of design).
2. Reduce buffeting. How much it will reduce it is dependent on dozens of factors. How tall you are, what kind of seat you use, how you sit/slouch, foot/leg placement, type of helmet, etc.
Here are a few photos, side by side, for comparision-

btw, the one made for the two wheelers/trikes with no tank lift, will also fit on the trikes with a tank lift.
They also work well on bikes/trikes with no lower fairings.

Third set of cooling wings we have used. 1 people found this helpfulI like the cooling wings, they work very well. But all three of the sets have needed, bending, twisting, and tweaking to have clearance. Once you're about ready to give up, they fit,

Cooling Deflector Wings for Touring / Trike Models 1 people found this helpfulExcellent! Really good at reducing buffeting and cooling the engine. Fantastic price and fast delivery to the UK. I’ve bought from DK before and am about to buy the next gen shocks for my trike. All products from these guys are really well thought out, highest quality low price and fast delivery. 100% recommended!
-
Amazing 0 people found this helpfulI live in phoenix and my bike is a daily rider. These deflectors are the best at directing the air flow right where you want it on to the engine. Easily took 20 degrees off y engine temp. doing tank lift next and oil cooler.
-
Another fine product 0 people found this helpfulReally nice product with a great finish. Sturdy. Just wish I had a little more room for adjustment but with only a 1" tank lift, not a lot of pivot room.
-
Deflector Wings - Love Them! 1 people found this helpfulI've been looking for years for something to reduce the road debris from coming up into my face and I've finally found it! Plus the added benefits of less buffeting and engine cooling. Worked so great on my bike, we ordered another pair for husband's.
-
DK CUSTOMS CDW 0 people found this helpfulEasy install, I haven't had a chance to see the cooling effects, 40 degrees outside.
-
Cooling deflector wings 0 people found this helpfulHaven't really had a chance to do any serious riding since I installed them because of snow and bad weather but they were easy to install and look good on my 2015 Tri Glide. Really hoping they help with keeping it a little cooler.
-
Effective 1 people found this helpfulI can confirm what other reviewers have said: these wings effectively reduce wind buffeting that comes up from behind the forks and around the tank on my 2018 FLHR. I am also sure there is some cooling effect going on as I now feel warm air coming off the motor around my legs. The powder coating matches the bike well so they are not overly noticeable.
-
On the fence 2 people found this helpfulEasy install, however I would have liked to of used the supplied spacers but the supplied bolts were too small in diameter, I have rode several hundred miles since installing these and can not say that they improved anything. I read one of the reviews where the gentleman stated it stopped upward airflow and thus his beard did not get up in his face as prior to install, I also have a beard and have not seen any reduction in wind on my face.

I have had our Customer Service Email you to see if they can help you with the angle to get better results. Thank you for your business and for the review! MB -
Awesome Product 2 people found this helpfulHad these on my 2019 trike and now putting on my 2025. They worked awesome.
-
Keeps your legs cooler 2 people found this helpfulYou can't always find miles of tree lined roads to stay cooler. Putting these on my ride took the edge off and I noticed a difference. Since you can't take the lowers off the wet head M8's, this is how you get more air on the subject. Considering how much we spend on jewelry for our rides, these are well made, EASY to install, and not outrageously priced. Mine are black, stealthy and functional. Yes, two sets of foot pegs provides more than a couple options for comfort.
-
On the fence 1 people found this helpfulEasy to install, however the supplied bolts to install the spacers are not the proper thread pitch, the CDWs would be a better fit with the supplied spacers. It was a litter cooler ambient temperature out so I could not say if they made a difference. I have a beard and I received as much air blowing my beard up as I did prior to installing these. Time will tell.
-
Deflectors 1 people found this helpfulThey went on easy. Had to make a few adjustments by bending a couple places but just like the instructions went easy. They look good and work well.

Quality parts and people 0 people found this helpfulLiving and riding in the south in the summer is really hot. I seen the DK tank lift, the Deluxe option and the deflector wings, the concept made sense to me and decided the try them. So on a routine trip from MS to OH, 25 July- 4 Aug ‘25, I stopped by the DK Custom shop outside Hickory Flats, MS. I was greater warmly by Shelby and was informed that they didnt often do retail at the production shop. Oops my bad. She said they could probably help me out. She got the ball rolling and while I was waiting she offered me a tour of the shop with introductions to all the employees. Which was awesome, from the ‘front office’ to the CNC cutting machine to the shipping office. Just incredible. They all couldn’t be nicer. When we finished up my order was ready as long with an ample SWAG bag. We settled up and I was in the wind. I installed the 1-1/2 inch tank lift with the Deluxe option and deflector wings once in OH for the return trip. The install was super easy if you know the difference between a box end and an open end, less that 30 mins for all the components. Returning to MS the ambient temps were in the mid 90’s and as long as I was moving 40-75 mph the highest head temp was 267 and oil temp 205. I saw a 12 degree temp reduction in the head temp. I was exceptionally pleased with the temp reduction and DK Customs has a return customer.. Thanks ‘08 Electra Glide, 113ci
-
The best “air deflector” 0 people found this helpfulThis product definitely works for minimizing buffeting and I assume - but can’t measure - it adds temp reduction as well. I have tried several different types of wind deflectors to stop buffeting and the DK Customs CDW is the only one that actually works.
-
Didn’t fit well with my ‘24 Street Glide 1 people found this helpfulI previously replaced the wind deflector beneath the fairing with a wind deflector that comes on the SG Ultra. The DK wind deflector came in contact with the fairing wind deflector. Had to rotate the DK deflector and bend it so it doesn’t catch much of the wind and stop it from coming up over the tank.

CDW 0 people found this helpfulWork as advertised. I couldn’t be happier with the product, fast shipping and quality packaging upon arrival. I also ordered the 1” tank lift @ the same time. If you Do one: Do Both. They are in the same exact area. I’m glad I did.
-
Cooling Deflector WINGS (CDW) 1 people found this helpfulTook Kevin’s advise and put on cdw. and removed the left thigh protector, what a difference it made in 95 degree heat. Next will be the tank lift. Thanks for all the knowledge!!!
-
Air wings 0 people found this helpfulSolid product! Added it to my lifted tank to push the air back over the engine.
-
Good product 2 people found this helpfulI was getting bad buffeting on my freewheeler these really helped still get some but well worth the cost noticeable difference
-
Awesome deflectors 0 people found this helpfulI bought these because they are supposed to help cool the engine. Not only do the help cool the engine, they also help with a lot less buffeting winds to the rider and passenger. That alone was worth getting these.
-
Good item and great quality! 0 people found this helpfulThis is a simple low-cost item you can add to your bike to reduce the engine heat! It works well. My engine fan would stay on when I stopped on my 30-mile ride to work and has not come on once I installed this item! Before the install the fan would run after I stopped at work for a few minutes.
-
Quality products always from DK 1 people found this helpfulHave not installed the deflectors yet because my Harleys are hibernating for the winter. I purchased a fin from a different vendor that bolted under the tree to reduce buffering, wasn’t successful. I’m confident that the deflectors from DK will provide needed air flow over the engine and eliminate my son’s complaints about buffering
-
I like 1 people found this helpfulFirst time using these. Installed on a '24 Tri Glide. I like the way they divert the air form over the front of the tank. They were installed with a tank lift. We'll see how the work for heat when it warms up.
-
Deflectors 1 people found this helpfulThey work as described easy install even helped with my long beard . Highly recommend
-
Perfect! 1 people found this helpfulI was skeptical at first sight. These work Fantastic! The cooling wings took away majority of the buffeting hitting me in the chest and I can feel the airflow on my legs. Can't wait for hot weather again to see how much it helps with cooling. Great product ! Would highly recommend! Thank You !!!!!
-
Tank lift kit, cooling wings, comfort mount kit extended floorboard products work great 0 people found this helpfulI have used several accessories from DK service has been great products work very well. Instructions and install have been very helpful. Great company to work with great products.
-
CDW more than just an engine cooler 7 people found this helpfulI was advised by a forum member to contact DK about my head buffetting issue on my new 2024 Road Glide. I had just installed a Klock Werkz 13.5" windsield, and I was experiencing some pretty severe head buffetting at 50 mph and above. DK instructed me to give these CDW's a shot. They explained that I may have to make some micro adjustments to dial it in. I popped these babies on, and yes I did have to move them a couple times. It definitely works! I wouldn't call it perfect, but the difference is pretty amazing! Plus I get the added engine cooling, which is their original intention! They're more than happy to answer any of your questions either through the phone or email! When I did email them, I was answered immediately! That kind of service is pretty rare these days. Bottom line, DK Products is GREAT company, and they can count on me being a return customer! Thanks DK!
-
Cooling Deflector Wings 0 people found this helpfulFast delivery Works as described ! They do reduce heat temperature Definitely would recommend them.
-
Good air deflector! 1 people found this helpfulI removed the Harley "walrus tusks" from my 2004 RoadKing and added the DK Cooling Wings. A much better look and deflects the air over the engine and away from me. A great addition to my bike.
-
Deflector Wings for Trike 1 people found this helpfulOnce again DK Customs comes through with another amazing product. Easy Install and it really helps with buffeting let alone the cooling aspect
-
COOLING DEFLECTOR WINGS 0 people found this helpfulgreat made product. very easy to install. and best of all made in America
-
Air Deflector 1 people found this helpfulEasy installation, fits good, lots of adjustability.
-
Initially skeptical, wish I would have bought them sooner! 1 people found this helpfulI had been seeing these since I bought my older Road king custom, the buffeting was very bad with stock screen, better with Long range re-curve at stock height (20 inches) and was the best with the fork mounted fangs. I live in Northern California and ride all year, was putting up with winter fangs and summer buffeting without cause I noticed how much hotter it ran with them. After installing and getting up to high way speeds these are MUCH MUCH better then the fangs! Front end feels better at speed! Can’t say about the cooling aspect but so far I’m very glad I made the purchase! I’m about six foot and it’s a 2006 road king custom with street glide fork mounted turn signals. No clearance issues!
-
Cooling Wings.. 2 people found this helpfulWow, The deflector wings I ordered on Sunday, were here on Thursday. The fit and finish are the best I've seen. Heck, Even someone with 10 thumbs can do this installation. Thanks DK Customs for offering a quality product at a fair price.
-
Cooling wings work 1 people found this helpfulInstalled on a 2019 Tri Glide. 14" OEM windshield and 3 bag windshield storage with fairing vent closed. I used the included spacer to move the wings closer to the lower fairing. The wings for this configuration solved about 90% of the buffeting. I can deal with that Thanks DK for the great product. Keep up the good work. Customer service is the best!!!.
-
Mixed feelings 0 people found this helpfulMounted on 2011 Ultra Limited. I had to bend mine quite a bit to get them to where the upper fairing lowers were not hitting the wings at full lock turn. Pretty annoying for the price I paid to have to tweak them so much to get them to fit. They do seem to direct a lot of air down across the front cylinder, so they will probably help with the heat when moving. That can happen when a fairing has been mounted a little lower than normal...either at the factory, or after someone has worked on the bike. The nice thing is that even if the fairing is mounted a bit low, the CDW's can still be tweaked to fit. KP

Awesome 0 people found this helpfulThey work just as designed. Awesome product
-
Easy to install 0 people found this helpfulExcellent product easy to install
-
Cooling deflectors with Tank Lift 0 people found this helpfulInstalled the cooling deflectors with a tank lift. The installation was very easy and it looks awesome. Also, it removed almost all of the wind buffeting! Thanks!
-
Easy and Effective 1 people found this helpfulVery easy to install and effective plus it looks good. I coupled the cooling deflectors with the tank lift so I could do a one-and-done deal. Everything went smoothly and works well! The bonus is it took care of almost all the wind buffeting I was feeling! Thanks!
-
Cooling Deflector Wings 0 people found this helpfulThese definitely help with the buffet I was getting at my helmet. I also notice I can hear my radio much better - probably a 2 bar reduction in volume to hear the radio at highway speed. I can’t say as far as cooling yet - it was a chilly day today, but it seems to push a lot more air down toward the engine. I would recommend viewing the instruction video before installing these - the instructions aren’t bad, but it took me a bit to figure out how these get oriented - watching the video helps a lot!
-
Second purchase 0 people found this helpfulI have been running this on my 19 Tri glide for several years and have purchased it again for my 22 Tri glide
-
Cooler 0 people found this helpfulMotor now gets more air flow than ever before paired up with the 1.5" Tank lift. Never in my dreams would I thought this would make such an impact on cooling the engine and 100% no air buffeting . For my set up YES 100%. These products are amazing. 2016 Road Glide Ultra
-
Love this mod! 0 people found this helpfulSo much better airflow behind the fairing. I also did a fairing drop and the 1.5" tank lift.
-
Cooling Wings on Ultra Limited 1 people found this helpfulTakes heat away from your legs and keeps the bugs off the gas tank
-
Great 0 people found this helpfulSo I have had these on my 2009 Road King Classic for over a year now. They are great. Not only do they seem to direct wind to the engine but also I have noticed that they reduce buffering. I wear a full face lid and what a difference.
-
Cooling deflector wings 0 people found this helpfulPart 3 of 4 part review. The deflector wings made a very noticeable difference in the wind being directed towards the engine. Engine running much cooler. Another very easy install.
-
Deflecting WIngs 0 people found this helpfulTried these mainly for buffeting. I have a 2013 and there is nothing out there except these for the 2013 TG that I could find. I have noticed some relief from this problem. I'd say, maybe 50% better. Only wish it did a better job.
-
Works as advertised 1 people found this helpfulInstalled on my Triglide with deluxe tank lift and made a noticeable difference in heat retention.
-
Cooling deflector wings for 2018 Tri-glide 0 people found this helpfulI was unsure of how effective or if they would flex a lot. I was talking with another couple with a Tri-glide one day, about modifications to the bikes, and they saw I had your oil filter relocation unit & oil cooler, and asked how effective I thought it was. They had your cooling deflector wings and I asked the same about those. I could see how sturdy and well-made they were. I ordered them that day when we got back home! If you are thinking about getting a set do it, makes Momma happy too.
-
Added Cooling 0 people found this helpfulSo I have now added the cooling wings with the oil filter relocation kit, tank lift kit and a fan assisted factory oil cooler. The numbers speak for themselves. I am running oil temps between 195-200, riding in 98-100 degree air temps, while running about 80-85 mpg on the freeway. I am running an M8 with oil and air cooling. Bottom line is DK's products WORK and 200 is a lot better than 230+ oil temp. I also run the DK external breather system. DK produces quality products that WORK! That's all I have for y'all today. I'm out and y'all peace out.
-
Cooling Deflector Wings 0 people found this helpfulBought this with the tank lift kit and deluxe option. Easy to install and really makes the air stream over your engine. You can really feel the air movement. It lowers the temperature down considerably. I’m glad I did this. The air movement is incredible
-
Simple and effective 0 people found this helpfulQuick and easy install. Reduced buffeting as advertised. Well worth the money!
-
Reduced buffeting 2 people found this helpfulOrdered the cooling deflector wings for my 2020 Road King standard. Simple install and great bang for the buck. Great build quality and finish. Reduced the buffeting I had over 70 miles per hour immensely and will give me increased comfort on my 1500 mile trip the end of the month. Thanks again for another great product.
-
Great quality, easy installation, still dialing them in 1 people found this helpfulCheck out my tank lift review for a good laugh. Once I got my head right, and installed my lift kit correctly, these wings went right on. Maybe took two minutes. I used a 1” lift in the front and 1/2” on the rear, so the wings didn’t cause any clearance issues with either my tank or the fairing. The toughest part of the install for me (and if you read my tank lift review, it won’t be a surprise) was properly adjusting the angle to maximize airflow over the engine and minimize wind buffeting on me. I’ve changed the angle twice so far after about 100 miles, and I think I’ve got them where they do both well. I may try a couple of more positions just to be sure. If the guys at DK have found the sweet spot, I’d be interested to see what they’ve come up with. Overall, I love these wings and have zero complaints.
-
Wings on 2020 Tri Glide 0 people found this helpfulAdded the cooling deflector wings to my 2020 HD Tri Glide. Just as advertised, they reduce buffeting and help cool the motor. Very easy install. Took 10 minutes.
-
Deflectors 0 people found this helpfulKit from DK Customs was very high quality. They fit perfectly and we’re easy to install. I put these on with the 1” tank lift kit.
-
Definitely reduces felt wind. 1 people found this helpfulWind on chest and shoulders is greatly reduced. Virtually no wind over front of tank. Helmet shake is reduced. Install was quick and easy.
-
Deflector Wings 0 people found this helpfulI put the deflector wings on my '15 Ultra Limited. They were easy to install, took maybe 15 mins. My shirt doesn't blow up any more, glasses stay on straight, I can feel the air directed down to my legs. Mine is dual cooled so, I really can't speak to the cooling effect, she never really gets hot while on the move. I recommend them.
-
Great product, easy install 0 people found this helpfulThese were an easy install, maybe 16 minutes. Had already done 1 1/2" tank lift and wanted these to push more air to the engine. Any time I get off it has been too cold or raining here in Indiana so no chance to test them out yet.
-
Very COOL! 0 people found this helpfulEasy to install & will definitely make a temp improvement on my '03 FLHRCI along with the tank lift. Should have done this years ago - great improvement! Very high-quality products from DK Custom. Glad I found you guys!
-
Cool 0 people found this helpfulGot these Cooling Deflector Wings for my 2013 FLHTK along with a tank lift front and back to keep the heat down on the 103. Everything as advertised, quick shipping, easy install. Ride Free, Ride Safe!
-
Freewheeler tank lift and airfoils 0 people found this helpfulI purchased the 1 1/2" full lift, for the front and rear of the tank on my 2019 Freewheeler, M8 114. Installed the lift which gave more space, breathing room, above the heads. It is winter here in North Alabama, however it appeared to reduce the engine heat and some wind buffeting. So went to the next step with the black painted airfoils, cooling wind deflectors, for the raised tank on my FLRT. I mounted them and finally got a short ride in between the very cold temperatures and rain to check the results. The airfoils appeared to help with the wind buffeting by 80% and I felt the air being directed towards the heads and jugs, as advertised. I may try more fine tuning later. All of the orders I've purchased from DK have arrived in a reasonable amount of time, packed with care and worked as advertsed. I'll continue to check their website for other items I may be interested in and their "youtube" vids, even though I'm not a fan of "youboob". I've also used their email contact for questions about their products and given detailed answers that gave me confidence to order the items I have so far.
-
Love the product, does exactly what you said. 0 people found this helpfulAfter installing the wings on my 2022 trike, it greatly reduced the buffeting , and engine runs cooler.

Cooling wing deflectors and 1 1/2 “ lift 0 people found this helpfulI put the 1 1/2 “ lift on trike and so much more room for air under there I decided to add the wind deflectors to get more air flow under there, to cold to ride now but will see in the spring. Very easy install and looks great !!! Top quality
-

Simple enough but makes a difference! 0 people found this helpfulGreat quality, simple product that makes a difference in my '18 SGS Anv. This is 1 of a few products I have purchased from DK and I am covinced thaey really do want to help us ride cooler and last longer! Keep up the great work and turning out awesome products!
-
It's a try and see thing 0 people found this helpfulThe wings seem to bring more air to the engine and change the air flow up around the tank exactly as advertised. Unfortunately for me (6'1" tall, 17 RK, police seat, windshield) they make buffeting worse, air coming upward around the tank is moved backward putting my head more in the upward flow. Will give them another try after adding tank lifts.
-
great 0 people found this helpfulworks great
-
What a difference a little more air can do 0 people found this helpfulThis deflector wing doesn’t seem like much but it makes a huge difference the way it redirects the air flow to where it needs to be. Love this thing.
-
Great! 1 people found this helpfulWorks great with 1.5 tank lift and deluxe kit and the Wind deflector. Easy to install on my 2019 TG highly recommended.
-
Every little bit helps 0 people found this helpfulI put off buying these mostly because I thought they might look funny on the bike. But they don't look as ugly as I thought, and they are doing what they are supposed to do. Added to all the other mods for cooling my temps are down 25-30 degrees.
-
Would Highly Recommend 0 people found this helpfulInstallation was quite difficult and instructions are about worthless. Item itself is very well built. I did expect cheap plastic wings and was very impressed with the metal. I cant say if the wings or the tank lift kit helped lower the temp of engine but together they worked GREAT. They did decrease some of the "buffeting" I used to get.
-
Solid product 0 people found this helpfulStill evaluating but it does seem to help with the heat on the right side of my trike.
-
Awesome product 0 people found this helpfulNoticeable difference, would buy again
-
Excellent product 0 people found this helpfulAfter installing 1.5” tank lift and deflector wings the engine runs cooler.
-
They work 0 people found this helpfulAfter installing 1.5” tank lift and deflector wings the engine runs about 30F cooler.
-
After some trial & error, they work pretty good. 0 people found this helpful21 Freewheeler with lower wind deflectors on forks.(aka, fangs) and 16" windshield. I did not have wind coming up the front of the gas tank but up the sides. After 1st installing wings per instructions, I didn't feel any difference. After reversing the wings (right to left/left to right) it moved the air back about 4" and reduced the volume about 50%. I would recommend them.
-
Good idea 0 people found this helpfulDK came up with a good idea for additional air cooling with these things, and they did a nice job fabricating it. A little pricey IMO, but I put a set on both of my Electra Glide touring bikes. Glad I did. I can recommend these.
-
Not really seeing significant decrease in head temp 0 people found this helpfulThe instructions could use a diagram or two to show how these install because the description is pretty vague and the pictures on the website aren't much help either. Regardless, I got them installed but they could be on the wrong side (I lost the foam they were packed in with the left/right writing) and perhaps they're in the wrong spot, I bolted them to the bottom of the lift arms. Either way it looks like they should be deflecting wind down and the front head, but I didn't really see an overall decrease in max temp, although it did seem like the temp rose more slowly and fell more quickly when I got out in the air at speed. I believe that's mostly from the tank lift, though. I gotta say that the claimed "10-15 degree" drop in temp is not being seen on my '22 RG. I'm going to try to keep tweaking them to see if I can get them adjusted so there's more air being blasted to the heads. Here's a suggestion: how about stamping a L and R on the damn things, lol. Might help some... Another excellent and functional product. 0 people found this helpfulHaving read a number of reports about getting engine temperature lower on my Tri Glide, I decided to start at the lower cost bracket and work upwards if needed. First step was these cooling deflectors. They arrived very quickly, securely packaged and with easy and comprehensive tracking. I might suggest they are a little expensive for a pair of pressed metal sheets BUT they are very well produced and, more importantly, they work.
-
Combo difference 0 people found this helpfulInstalled CWD’s and tank lift at same time so results of the combined was engine running cooler and some buffeting reduced. The lift does help cleaning valve covers.
-
Kit works great 0 people found this helpfulBuffering almost gone

Wait…how?! 0 people found this helpfulUpon receiving these and the 1” tank lift hardware I thought to my self “ohhh great. I just got ripped off. What is this?!” Went ahead and installed them on my 2012 SG. On my test ride I simply said “wait! How?!” “These things are actually working!” Eliminated about 80% of my buffeting. I had a big buffeting issue right at 60 mph. It’s mostly gone. At 70-80 mph the bike is pleasant again to ride. Can’t feel that gush of air that was coming from the side of the tank anymore. I do have the HD fairing adjustable vents. It does rub at full turn with the DFW; being that the HD fairing vents are plastic it’s able to give without breaking. It’s probably rubbing 1/8 of an inch. Overall satisfied. Good job, guys!
-
They work 0 people found this helpfulBought and installed these with the tank lift kit. This is a well made product that works to get more air flowing to your cylinders. Bonus is I find my head buffeting has greatly reduced.
-
Good quality not sure the effectiveness 0 people found this helpfulWell made but hard to determine the effectiveness but made in USA. Yea for us.
-
Awesome accessory 0 people found this helpfulEasy install and works great. More air for the engine & less buffeting on me.
-
Easy install, seem to work 0 people found this helpfulI did these after a deluxe tank lift install. The 114 Triglide M8 runs hot and these were a simple way to flow more air over the engine. DK ships fast, has quality products and it seems like these are helping.
-
Cooler deflector wings 0 people found this helpful1st.I'd like to say that DK customs products have always been top notch, these are no different in terms of quality. That said I ended up taking mine off.Did'nt notice any difference in terms of air flow to the front cylinder. Didn't help the buffering either. This was on a 2016 SGS.
-
No more burned leg 0 people found this helpfulPurchased these as a remedy for 2nd degree burns on right leg from engine heat on my trike during a long road trip last summer. Much improvement in engine heat level. Highly recommend.
-
Great improvement 0 people found this helpfulAn EZ way to Cool your Hot M8 Trike. I am very impressed at how much it effected the Engine temperature and Riding comfort.
-
What a difference 0 people found this helpfulAdded 1 1/2 inch tank lift with the cooling deflector wings, motor is much cooler, I can actually feel the cool air on my legs, 2014 Trike wet head, out today in 90 degree temps and the fans didn’t come on one time
-
Looks great 0 people found this helpfulLooks like they belong on bike. Did tank lift at same time. Should help with more air flow and cooling
-
Seems to work as advertised 0 people found this helpfulSeem to do what they say. Hard to tell how much an affect they have because I did the tank lift at the same time. overall I feel more airflow though.
-
CDW 0 people found this helpfulVery good quality. But not sure how much helped cooling on my 2009 Road King, still had very high ET numbers.
-
Well worth it! 0 people found this helpfulWe've got wind in Saskatchewan! And these cooling wings DO make a difference for rider buffeting. Well made, good finish. Now if DKCP's can just come up with something for those nasty side winds!
-
Easy install 0 people found this helpfulGreat quality easy install and reduces buffeting quite a lot. Definitely worth it
-
They work !!!! Great 0 people found this helpfulEasy to install. Stops 95% of buffering between fairing and Tank. No up draft either. Motor runs cooler with air being pushed down on front and rear cylinder. I wear a Shark modular helmet much less wind noise. I ride in Florida motor runs much cooler fans come on alot less.I ride a 2017 FLHTKL
-
They work great! 0 people found this helpfulEasy install!

Another excellent product 0 people found this helpfulSince purchasing my 2019 Trike last November I have added the Deluxe Tank Lift Kit which reduced some buffeting. Then the Floor Board Extensions which made it more comfortable and cooler on my leg. Just added the Cooling Wings and there was a noticeable difference in the buffeting. My helmet does not wobble around anymore. I've also installed the Tour Pack Relocation to give wife more room and the External Breather System. My next project will be to add a set of Love Jugs. Highly recommend the products from DK Custom. Quality parts. Thorough installation instructions.
-
They actually work 0 people found this helpfulThese work best with the tank lift with the deluxe option. I installed these on a 2016 Tri-glide after installing a new windshield. Having the wind go around me more made it real obvious how much was coming up from my lowers. I got these and it solved that problem along with helping direct the air over the engine and under the tank more withg the deluxe tank lift kit. My Trike has barely hit over 200F since installing these with the tank lift. Just get em. Install is easy especially if you do it when you install the tank lift.
-
DK “Gives you wings” 0 people found this helpfulInstalled on 2020 Tri glide Ultra with 1-1/2” tank lift kit. Install was ease. As per instructions I needed to bend ever so slightly to gain clearance and angle to direct air flow at maximum. Clearance at bottom back edge of fairing was achieved by bending mentioned above. No problem. One thing to keep in mind is the fact that the adjustable wings at the bottom ends of the fairing when adjusted to allow air flow towards engine the top rubs across the top very end of the wing slightly. Not so much as to cause not using them just be aware. GREAT product!! Thanks again!
-
Great product 0 people found this helpfulBeen trying to solve buffeting issue and beard lift. Had my doubts about this product but it did solved my issues. Tried different windshields and jes deflectors. This by far worked best.
-
Neat little product 0 people found this helpfulEasy install, fit perfectly, and really throws the air where it needs to be for cooling.
-
Another quality product from DK Custom 0 people found this helpfulA very well machined part. Fit perfect.
-
Well worth the money 0 people found this helpful2020 FLHTK here, put these on in 15 minutes, quick, easy install. I have nothing to compare them to as this is my first HD, and Bagger, coming from metric choppers. I do know that they did in fact almost eliminate the dirty air coming over the front of the tank, thereby eliminating buffeting and eyeball bounce for me at 6' with a stock 10" windshield and stock seat. All in all, well worth the money I spent. DK's fantastic customer service is just the icing on the cake, I'm a customer for life now.
-
great product 0 people found this helpfulafter installation i noticed a decrease in the air flow on my face . this was great but when i put my feet on the highway pegs i usually get a lot more air flow running up my legs and into my face but now that is 80 percent less . this alone makes these wings worth the money . with all that wind blowing over my motor it has to be running cooler .. Great product !
-
Noticeable improvement in buffeting, but not end all solution 0 people found this helpfulInstall, was super easy. I adjusted them as high up as I could while still clearing the fairing at full turn. Aesthetically, you hardly notice them. Now for my main concern, buffeting. I did all my observations at 80mph. I did notice a reduction in the buffeting, but its not life altering like the fangs were. With these installed my glasses didn't vibrate nearly as much as they did before, but there is still some. To their credit it is a noticeable reduction so I would definitely call it a plus. Between the KW windscreen, fairing deflectors, and Lowers, It has definitely removed about 90% of my issues. I will also say, traffic was very heavy while doing these tests on the freeway. More traffic is more turbulent air, so with that said, just cruising open road, it may have even better results. I can't say much for cooling as my bike is stage 2 with a custom tune. With the cat elimination and the tune, it already ran cooler than the lean stock tune. However, I did notice more airflow down by my feet. Overall, Its worth the 50 bucks to give it a shot if you still suffer from buffeting.
-
Did exactly what it said it would do 0 people found this helpfulEasy to install and stoped the dirt from coming up into my face.
-
Air Deflectors work 0 people found this helpfulNoticed reduction of heat on legs, Pleased with the results. Have fairing on my 2020 Freewheeler and noticed less wind turbulance behind windshield after air deflector install.
-
Great Product 0 people found this helpfulWell made with excellent finish. Can feel heat reduction. Excellent service and fast shipping

Deflector Wings 0 people found this helpfulWhen I first read about them my thoughts were yea right. After install they really work good and it seems to keep alot of air moving over the heads. Great product very happy
-

-
not for me 0 people found this helpfulI don't know what much this helped with buffeting or temps. I did 4 things at once. new windshield - tank lift, new seat and the deflector wings. Although they were somewhat conspicuous, I removed them for aesthetic reasons.
-
Great product 0 people found this helpfulCut down wind coming from under the fairing significantly. My eyes don't shake anymore much nicer
-
Deflectors 0 people found this helpfulI bought the deflectors the same time I bought the 1.5 inch deluxe tank lift. My way of thinking it just made sense to do this at the same time, tanks up and I am looking for more air over my cylinders this was a great addon. Thanks DK Customs
-
Puts the air where it's needed 0 people found this helpfulEasy install fits well. Puts the air where it's needed. Would like to see a more stylish design, maybe with a curve, also offer a chrome version. Otherwise Good Job DK!
-
Cooling deflectors 0 people found this helpfulPutting the cooling deflectors on has made a world of difference in my ride. No more scorched leg
-
ok, but not as good as I was told by other riders 0 people found this helpfulI've put on the extended floor boards, tank lift and wind deflectors. The ride is cooler, But I found the tank lift to cool more. Hardly noticed the difference when I put the wind deflectors on.The quality is very good, the price is good. Putting headers on next to see what that does?
-
Another Great Product. 0 people found this helpfulSince June I have installed the tank lift, floorboard relocation kits, trike shocks and lift kit, oil filter relocation and oil cooler kit and last, but not least, the cooling wings. I am a happy camper now. I always loved my trike but now, I’m in love with riding it. It is much cooler, no more scorched legs and the ride is fantastic. These cooling wings top off my upgrades and ate well worth the price. Carry a socket snd adjust them until you get the sweet spot.
-
This product help reduce wind in face, not completely, but still noticable. 0 people found this helpfulFast delivery how's your day been and a very good company to do business with.
-
Not great 0 people found this helpfulEngine dropped a couple degrees as per my tuner, but I run 210 to 230 most of the time. They did not do anything for wind buffering.and that's what I was looking for. The wind between the lowers and bat wing hit me in the face, I love the wind but not how my sunglasses jump around. ************* Sounds like you could benefit from adjusting the angle of the CDW's. Give a call or an email if you would like some assistance.
-
Effective and looks clean 0 people found this helpfulI did the deflectors in conjunction with a 1.5 tank lift. What a difference! Good quality material and looks really good on my TriGlide "Ruby"
-
excellent products 0 people found this helpfulTanklift and deflectors work perfect for me. No more buffeting to the helmet and the ride is much more quit. Also, at the moment its very hot in the Netherlands and after a 2 hour ride on the highway at 120 km the oiltemperature did not come above 115C [239F] and that is without an oilcooler. So the tanklift helps with the cooling aswell. Also no need for midframe deflectors to keep the heat away from your thighs. Very happy with both products.
-
Effective 0 people found this helpfulI ride in temperatures well over 100 degrees in the Arizona desert with my 2012 Road Glide. The custom motor is quite the beast at 113 ci and 130 hp / 127 tq. Things get cooking fast down here! With the tank riser kit, plus the rear deluxe lift kit, and the cooling wings, I'm easily seeing 10 degrees less, sometimes more, on really hot days. Even during questionable speeds on the highway in the heat, passing grandmothers, Corvettes, Mustangs and Kawasakis, the oil temp has never gone over 230. At regular cruising, it's more like 190. Ah, life is good.

What and improvement! 0 people found this helpfulI just installed DK Custom wind deflectors....and man what a difference they make! I didn't realize just how much the wind coming up between the tank and inner fairing affected hearing my music, and it took all the helmet buffeting away. I definitely recommend them!
-
Freewheeler 0 people found this helpfulI ordered a host of cooling modifications from tank lift and wings in the scope of them all it made my ride cooler for sure & I added DKs floor board extensions making my rides much more comfortable
-
Did better than I expected........ 0 people found this helpfulI was hoping that they would deflex the wind and rain from coming up from between the lower fairings and fairing. They do great at pushing wind and rain down and away from my face, and eliminated all wind buffeting. Bonus points for mild engine heat reduction and keeping my legs a bit cooler also. Very pleased with the results!
-
Performed as described 0 people found this helpfulNoticed an immediate reduction in the amount of air hitting my chest and shoulders. Easy install but did require some bending to accommodate my TriGlide
-
Great 0 people found this helpfulKeeps your legs cool Great product
-
Great product 0 people found this helpfulThese wings are great for redirecting the air that would be flowing over the tank down towards the engine. Helps to cool the engine and stops the air from hitting the rider. With less turbulence around my helmet, I can hear the bike better and that’s always a good thing.
-
Great product 0 people found this helpfulFast shipping and extremely easy to install. Felt a definite difference especially with heat on my legs.
-
As advertised 0 people found this helpfulThe value is in the simplicity. The research has paid off on this product. 15 min install. Very noticeable reduction in head buffeting. Can hardly tell they are there. Great job D&K!
-
Deflector Wings work Great! 0 people found this helpfulSuper easy to install, and they make a big difference. Noticaeble difference in the way the air comes up over the tank, or doesn't any more. Hoping it has a similar effect on blowing heat from the engine down and out. I'm riding a Freewheeler trike and it does get warm. Haven't used these in the heat yet, but hoping.
-
Air deflectors 0 people found this helpfulThese look good, have a nice finish, are easy to install
-
Awesome felt improvement 0 people found this helpfulPut the wind deflectors on my 2017 Tri-Glide with the deluxe tank lift. The installation was quick and easy. About a 15 minute job. What a felt difference in reduced wind buffeting between the fairing and gas tank. Nice not having as much wind hit you in the face and chest. The felt heat coming off the side of the engine onto the rider and the passengers legs was reduced to almost none. Great product, nice fit and finish.
-
Definite Improvement 0 people found this helpfulI put these on my 2020 Ultra Limited to go along with a 10" Freedom Shield. I had tried a couple of other fixes for head-buffeting / wind management (various windshields and air-deflectors) but hadn't quite got it as good as I felt it could be based on past experience with my previous bat-wing fairing bike (2015 Street Glide Special with fork fangs and a Freedom Shield). The Freedom Shield was a step in the right direction after first trying a Klockwerks Shield but it still wasn't good enough. I considered adding a customized set of Harley fork fangs but was leery of what they would do to my engine temperatures (Limited has lower fairings). I haven't tried to measure engine temps with these DK Custom Deflector Wings (I don't see how they could do anything but help lower temps) but they definitely lessened the turbulence in/around my face and head. Based on memory alone (not necessarily all that reliable) I don't think these cut updraft quite as good as Harley fork fangs, but they are a close second and definitely won't hurt my engine temps. I give the Wings two thumbs up. They're definitely worth the price of admission.
-
Really helps control air flow 1 people found this helpfulThe air wings catch their coming over the pods and channel it over the engine. It helps cool my legs from the engine heat.
-
Air deflector 0 people found this helpfulSeems to work fine fast delivery like always. Great product thanks!!
-
Worth the buy for street glides 0 people found this helpfulSo it is definitely worth it for buffeting alone. I am 5'10 and ride a 2015 FLHXS with a klockwerks 6.5. This was added after the clock werks and did more for buffeting than many other buffeting mitigations. For heat. I tested it in similar conditions at highway speeds and say maybe a 2 degree run temp drop, however cooling down to that point seemed accelerated so I think it is worth the buy.
-
Excellent 0 people found this helpfulUnreal how much these reduce the buffeting. I can hear my stock speakers now. These along with the deluxe lift kit and Love Jugs make the bike run much stronger. Very happy with these products.
-
wing deflectors 0 people found this helpfulI felt improvement on the wind coming up from the triple trees and aloing side the tank. great product.
-
A product that does it's job well 0 people found this helpfulI installed these during my installation of the tank after putting the ThunderVolt 50 plug wires on my 2017 HD Freewheeler trike. On my test ride, I had an immediate improvement in head/helmet buffeting that could be felt on the highway. My temp. reading showed a 10-12° improvement & coupled with DK Customs 1.5" tank lift, a 20-25° overall temperature reduction. Thanks for another great product.
-
Not Sure.... 1 people found this helpfulJust returned from a 2500 miles road trip in Europe (Spain and Portugal) I am from the UK. Fitted the Cooling Deflector Wings before I went. 1. Product well made and easy to fit (I had to use the supplied spacer but no problem). 2. I have an 2018 Ultra Limited Low. 3. It was a really hot trip...the weather in Europe is exceptionally hot at the moment...100 - 110 degrees. I do not know whether the CDWs actually helped to keep my engine temp. down...I did not measure it but I had no problems. 4. I bought the wings primarily to help with head buffeting. They may have helped a little but I am not sure how much. I still had some buffeting so they did not eliminate it.
-
review of the air deflector wings 0 people found this helpfulI ordered your air deflector wings for my 2014 Tri Glide. I called customer service with my questions, who gave me great service and made sure I had the right set coming my way- and it came very quickly! Very happy with the results of having them on.
-
Engine Cooling 0 people found this helpfulI have a tank lift kit and added the cooling deflector wings. The riding outside temperatures have been over 100 degrees. I have rode my 2016 H-D Tri-Glide Ultra and checked the temperatures are under 200 degrees without the cooling deflector wings the teperatures are usually over 250 degrees. I recommend these cooling deflector wings.
-
great 0 people found this helpfulthese are great as everything you do to cool engine help a lot would hope every one put them on great job Dk
-
Good so far 0 people found this helpfulTimely delivery, hardest part about install was getting them out of the packaging ( someone went crazy with the tape); I combined this with a 1" tank lift. So far, they seem to be working, a little less air coming over the tank and it feels like I have less heat from the engine. All in all, a good product that does what it says it will do.
-
Awesome 0 people found this helpfulI am really impressed at how these work. I never really enjoyed going highway speeds because of the buffeting I would get. Plus since I have a 2006 model, I have a 5 speed tranny. I do have an oil cooler but at the rpms it takes to get to 75 or 80MPH, The oil cooler doesn't do much. 2 problems solved for 50 bucks! Super easy to install as well.
-
They work as advertised 0 people found this helpfulThe wings definitely move some air over your engine I think they are a useful addition
-
OK 0 people found this helpfulThe product is well made and delivery was fast. Unfortunately I could not use them on my 2017 Road King Special because of the windshield I have installed. No way of bending the wings to fit. The issue is when I turn the handle bars from side to side the wings interfere.
-
Very nice 0 people found this helpful2016 Tri Guide. Haven't installed yet, powder coating is top notch.

John 0 people found this helpfulThank you!

Well Made and effective 0 people found this helpfulGreat idea, that works. Very easy install in my 18 Tri Glide and they helped. I am pleased with products I have purchased from dk and recommend them.
-
Great product, glad I bought them. 0 people found this helpfulPut them on my 2013 tri glide. Huge improvement in updraft around the tank. Still have a little from the sides of the tank. Considering the tank lift.
-
John 0 people found this helpfulThey work!
-
sa-WEET! 0 people found this helpfulI have a 2015 FLHTCUL, and added the cooling wings this past spring. They are absolutely THE TITS! Noticeable reduction in head buffeting. At under fifty bucks and a 5 minute install, they are the most cost effective comfort mod I've made.
-
Good for airflow 0 people found this helpfulSharp product, good fit and finish. Helps to redirect wind down to the engine where it belongs, not up in your face. I run without fairing lowers, and these don't get in the way or look out of place.
